One of our clients haf a situation where a NetSuite workflow added a custom action button to a record, and they wanted the record to save before the action was performed. Without this functionality in NetSuite, they needed to remember to manually save the record before clicking the custom button, or else risk losing any unsaved changes. For example, if the button was “Approve” or “Reject”, they wanted the record to be automatically saved upon clicking the custom button, but before the approval or rejection action was triggered. Here's how we accomplished this for them in NetSuite.
Step 1: Edit the NetSuite Workflow step that defines the custom button.
Step 2: In the “Parameters” field group of the workflow wizard, check the box “Save record First”.
Step 3: This will automatically combine the button with the native “Save” button and prepend “Save &…” to the label.
