When trying to leverage SuiteCommerce My Account Checkout, you may run into a Tax Calculation error such as the one in the image below:
This article outlines the cause of this issue and how to work around it.
This issue occurs when the Customer record in NetSuite does not have an address. Normally, the checkout should allow you to add an email, but this error prevents us from doing so.
The reason for this is that the standard flow that SuiteCommerce expects is that all Customer records have addresses. Lead records in NetSuite do not normally have addresses attached to them.
In order to get around this, you must ensure that any users without an address are assigned as Leads, not as Customers in NetSuite.
This solution is only applicable to assigning access without an address. In the example above, our client added customers to NetSuite via API. If you are using this method, then this solution is very relevant.
