A client was trying to initiate an inventory transfer between their main warehouse and another location. However, at the line-item level, none of the buttons in NetSuite, such as “Add” were functioning, so the form could not be submitted.
The problem stemmed from the inventory item’s available status at the destination location (in this situation, the Tennessee storage facility). Looking at the item record in NetSuite, though there are 4 of the items on hand, none were marked as available, which is a pre-requisite for a standard inventory transfer.
Therefore, the low stock of the item at the Tennessee storage facility (hence the desire to transfer inventory in the first place) nearing its re-stock threshold, on top of the non-available inventory in stock, are the culprits for preventing the standard inventory transfer from occurring in NetSuite.
The workaround to this can be found with the “Replenish Location via Inventory Transfer” function in NetSuite. This form in NetSuite lists the low-inventory items stocked near their replenishment point from which one can select. It also gives replenishment quantity suggestions.
Once the inventory detail is submitted (note that it treats the locations similar to bins), this acts as a standard inventory transfer.
Here is the successful submission of the inventory transfer via “Replenish Location via Inventory Transfer”
