One of our clients required the “Probability” field native to the Opportunity record in NetSuite to be shown as a decimal integer rather than a percentage for reporting reasons.
However, because the “Probability” field is native, it cannot be changed. Additionally, the company needed the probability to match the specific percentages respective to each “Stage” (custom field) of the customer status on the Opportunity (0%, 20%, 50%…).
We easily achieved both of these requirements for our customer using a Workflow in NetSuite. Here's how we set up the workflow to accomplish this.
View of workflow actions to set probabilities and probability integer, and disable field editing.
View on NetSuite opportunity record of the end result of workflow with corresponding fields set and matching.
If your company has a similar need to convert a native NetSuite percentage field to a decimal/integer, implementing the solution outlined above should meet this need! If you need assistance with this process or are encountering errors, contact our team for support!
